Livonia Cordelia Claybourn The Twelfth Child of William Divine Claybourn 20 April 1858 - 1930 Livonia Cordelia Claybourn ("Aunt Vone") was born on 20 April 1858. She married Frank Guy, who invented a minor's lamp. Frank started out by improving on a weakness in the Baldwin lamp design. Baldwin was an adherent of the "pressure controlled" water feed. Guy worked from his back porch replacing the original feed with his own design of a "cutoff value" water feed. After a few years, the result was patented and became well known as "Guy's Dropper". Guy's Droppers (often referred to just as "Droppers") were known for an excellent drip mechanism which has been recognized as one of the better drip mechanism of all common lamps. The valve allows for easy cleaning and very precise control of the drip rate. Another company eventually took over making the lamp. Despite its popularity, the couple fell on hard times due tothe Great Depression. Frank and Livonia lived in Springfield, Illinois. Livonia died in 1930.
Married to Frank Guy. Together they had two children:
