Biographical Sketch

Earnest Theodore Claybourn was born on 23 May 1893 in Marion County, Illinois. He worked in a motor car service for M.K.T. Railroad, beginning about 1916 until he sustained an accident at the M.K.T. warehouse while on night duty in Oklahoma City, in 1955, which left him permanently an invalid. He lived at 2526 Stevens St. in Parsons Kansas. He first married Jennie Poole, whom he divorced, and then married Vera Brawley. Earnest died on 12 June 1961 and Vera died on 29 October 1962. Earnest married (1st) in 1913 to Jennie Poole of Bay City, Texas. They divorced but had two children together:

1. Doris Marie Claybourn was born on 28 September 1914 in Houston, Texas. She had a good voice, sung in church choirs, performed on the radio in Dallas and Oklahoma City, and sang with the Oklahoma City Sumphony Orchestra once. Doris married Claude A. York, Jr. (born on 6 October 1911 in Dallas, Texas) on 28 September 1935. Claude worked as a manufacturer's representative for ladies "ready to wear clothing". The two lived in Dallas, Texas. They had three children:

   1. Douglas Scott York was born on 4 February 1942 in Oklahoma City. He worked as a electrical engineer and lived in Richardson, Texas for a while before possibly moving to Seattle, Washington. Doug was interested in building energy effient homes.

   2. Linda Claudia York was born on 12 January 1945 in Oklahoma City. Linda obtained a masters degree in landscape engineering and worked for an architectural planning company in Silver Springs, Maryland. She married Alan Dahl in 1965, and the two divorced in 1976 or 1977, but they had one child:
      1. Erica Lynn Dahl, born 24 February 1971 in Boulder, Colorado

   3. Timothy Claybourn York, born 12 July 1948 in Oklahoma City

2. Earnest Theodore Claybourn, Jr. ("Ted") was born 18 January 1916 in Smithville, Texas. He flew transports during World War II and later served as an airplane mechanic. He married Mary Elizabeth Prendeville (of Parsons, Kansas) on 12 August 1936. They had one child:

   1. Gary Joseph Claybourn was born 9 July 1937 in Parsons, Kansas. He married Curilla Glatt (of Spokane, Washington) on 9 November 9157. They lived in Parsons.

   Ted also had two other daughters, the names of which are currently unknown.

Earnest (the elder) married (2nd) Mrs. Vera (Moss) Brawley on 31, August 1930. Vera was born on 14 December 1895 in Cooke County, Texas, and later lived in Dallas. Prior to marrying Earnest she had married T.H. Brawley on 20 July 1914, but he died in 1917. Vera had two daughters from this marriage: Eula Hinton Richardson of Parsons and Mrs. E.C. ("Verda") Grubbs of California (Verda died on 10 September 1981). Earnest and Vera also had two children together:

3. Connie Mack Claybourn was born 14 December 1933 in Parsons, Kansas and was named after the famous baseball manager of the same name. He married on 6 May 1953 to Margaret Rose Dabalack (born 18 November 1935 in Parsons). Connie worked for Texas Instruments. They lived at 1507 Meadow Brook, Garland, Texas. They eventually divorced and Margaret remarried to David Kosanda. Before divorcing Connie Mack and Margaret had four children:

   1. Catherine Suzanne Claybourn was born 10 December 1953 in Parsons, Kansas. She married David A. Hopson on 28 June 1975 and they lived in Carrollton, Texas. They had two children together:
      1. Eric Anthony Hopson, born 14 January 1983
      2. Matthew David Hopson, born 19 June 1985

   2. Paula Jean Claybourn was born 27 January 1959 in Parsons, Kansas. She married (1st) "Tony" Afsaru (a man of Iranian descent) and they later divorced. She married (2nd) Bill "Skeeter" Walker in 1984. Bill worked as a painter and Paula was a housewife. The two lived in Garland, Texas and had one child:
      1. Mary Margaret Walker, born in February of 1985

   3. Deborah Lynn Claybourn was born 27 January 1959 in Parsons, Kansas. She married Joseph Darr in 1963 and the two lived in Richardson, Texas. Joe worked for Fujitsu in the Dallas area. They had at least one child, with another expected in Feb. of 1986:
      1. Joseph Austin Darr, born 28 June 1984.

   4. Tracie Jo Claybourn was born on 19 March 1963 in Dallas, Texas. Tracie lived with her mother in Richardson, Texas and worked in telephone sales.

   Connie Mack married (2nd) Yvonne Prather Crownover in 1963, and the two divorced in 1970. Yvonne later married Jock Cahall and lived in San Leandro, Calif. Connie M. and Yvonne had one child:

   5. Kimberly Dawn Claybourn was born on 4 December 1963 and married Michael J. Kellar on 1 December 1984. Mike served in the Air Force and was stationed in Ipswitch, England.

   Connie Mack married (3rd) Elvira May "Elly" Henkel McKinney on 9 March 1974. They had no children by Elly had two sons from a prior marriage: Michael John McKinney, born on 18 November 1955, and David Allen McKinney, born on 11 July 1958.

4. Sonja Lee Claybourn was born 30 May 1941 in Parsons, Kansas and graduated from high school in 1959. She married Jack Vincent Ward, Jr. (born 11 February 1941) on 22 November 1962. Jack worked as a general manager of Broderick, Inc., which manufactured athletic clothing. Sonja worked for Kansas Power & Light. Jack and Sonja had three children:

   1. C. Michael Ward ("Mike") was born on 18 October 1965 and lives in Kansas City, Missouri and Platte City, Missouri. Mike graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, and works for Southwest Airlines.

   2. David Vincent Ward was born on 22 July 1968 and resides in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Kansas works as a web designer and software engineer.

   3. Nancy Jane Ward-Krull was born 8 July 1969 and resides in Parsons, Kansas. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas and works as a school teacher. Nancy married Michael S. Krull and they have children:
